“I would like to just send a shoutout to Jon Dorenbos. Everything went well (Tuesday) with surgery and he’s resting comfortably. Just wish him and his family well, our prayers are with him and hope for a speedy recovery,” Pederson said.
The aneurysm was discovered when Dorenbos was traded from the Eagles to the Saints at the end of August. The 37-year-old, who been with the Eagles since the middle of the 2006 season, is now grateful the trade occurred.
“He looks at it in a way in which you could argue the trade itself saved his life,” Saints coach Sean Payton said, via ESPN.
According to Payton, Saints physician Dr. John Amoss saw something was wrong during Dorenbos’ initial physical. He ordered further tests, which is how the aneurysm was discovered.
